Day 1 – Arrival in Kottayam | Churches Tour | Kumarakom Backwaters

Upon arrival in Kottayam, often known as the Land of Letters, Latex, and Lakes, you will be welcomed by our representative and begin a cultural exploration of this beautiful district. Kottayam is famous for its historic churches, serene backwaters, and vibrant local traditions. The day begins with visits to some of the most iconic churches that reflect the rich Christian heritage of Kerala.

Places Covered

St. Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church (Cheriapally) – One of the oldest churches in Kerala, known for its traditional architecture and historic murals.
Manarcad St. Mary’s Church – A major pilgrimage center and an important spiritual landmark of the region.

After exploring the heritage sites, proceed to Kumarakom, a picturesque village located on the banks of Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in Kerala.

Check in to your lakeside resort or houseboat and enjoy a relaxing afternoon surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the backwaters.

Day 2 – Illikkal Kallu Hills | Scenic Views | Departure

After breakfast, check out from the resort and drive towards Illikkal Kallu, one of the most breathtaking hill viewpoints in Kerala. Located about 3500 feet above sea level, Illikkal Kallu offers panoramic views of mist-covered mountains, valleys, and lush greenery.

A short trek from the parking area leads to the famous rock formations that make this place unique.
